Im-perfection | Sculpture carved in Huamanga Stone
Celebrating the female body with Huamanga stone, only found in the Cangallo Province in Ayacucho, Peru.
Inspired by sculptures by Gaylord Ho and Masatoyo Kishi, I crafted a torso piece. Leaving parts of the natural stone exposed, I aimed to juxtapose the smooth, delicate body with the rawness of the rock. This exploration reflects societal pressures on women's bodies, highlighting the beauty in perceived flaws, as reinforced by the title.

Mulier | Mixed media collage
Conveying female empowerment and self-acceptance through the blotting technique, with a background evoking a warm, tender atmosphere reminiscent of abstract expressionist drips.
Collaging materials evoking femininity such as lace, flowers, and a feather, I aimed to enhance the artwork's message. An excerpt from a poem by Mario Benedetti, "One thing is dying of pain, another is dying of shame," reinforces the theme. To unify the composition, I applied encaustic medium, adding texture emphasized with bitumen.
